The Birds are Back
The birds are back
Sunlight glistens once more
On the surface of a happy creek
The ripples of pleasure
Spread lazily across
To banks that had missed their welcome touch
For years.
No matter the skies
with grey frowns linger
they brought the rains
they shared the bounty
nourished dry plains
excited tired hearts
filled them with new hope.
Amazing,
Blue between the clouds
Blue lights on grey waters
And the birds, see the birds!
The birds have come back and nature sings!
